Tina headed up to Manchester to photograph Glaswegian hard rock band Gun performing at The Manchester Academy. Gun are most famous for their hit ‘Word Up’.
She also managed to stop by a few other Manchester venues to catch a few local bands performing on the same night including Skeletal Damage, Son of Shinobi and Moving Moscow.

Simon J. Newbury Photography has undertaken lots of photography for BIMM Manchester. Tina headed up to Manchester in December to photograph The BIMM Manchester Songwriting Showcase held at The Ruby Lounge. Over 20 new and developing artists performed original compositions spanning all genres to an excited audience of family and friends. The second show at Rebellion on Deansgate was the end of term gig. A set of BIMM acts performed a wide range of covers and original tracks to a cram-packed audience.

We had the very great pleasure of working with local band Reagal to produce a set of promotional photographs for the band to use for publicity purposes.
The photoshoot took place in Crewe and the band were happy to try out a range of poses and ideas.

Simon headed over to Liverpool to the O2 Academy to photograph former Marillion front-man Fish. Fish (real name Derek Dick) is currently embarking on a UK and Europe tour with his band. The tour is the ‘Moveable Feast Tour’. The Liverpool date is a rescheduled show from earlier in the year following the illness of one of Fish’s touring musicians.

Simon headed up to Manchester to catch up with Jacqui Abbott and Paul Heaton on tour. It was the second time Simon had photographed the pair in the space of week having been at Parr Hall in Warrington at the beginning of the week.

We photographed former Beautiful South singers Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott earlier in the year at The Lowry in Salford. The pair are back on tour with almost every date on the tour a sell out. The show at The Parr Hall in Warrington was one of the smaller shows on the tour and the place was packed! Simon was also the only photographer at the show so it was something of an exclusive!

Tina headed down to Birmingham’s O2 Academy to photograph The Gaslight Anthem for the second time in a week having photographed them recently at The Apollo in Manchester. This gig was the final date on their European ‘Get Hurt’ Tour.
