It was great to be back photographing at Wembley Stadium. The biggest attendance of the weekend joined me for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final. High flying Bristol City took on fellow League One outfit Walsall, making their first ever appearance at the national stadium. Bristol City had visited the new Wembley Stadium before for the Play Off final which saw them narrowly beaten 1-0 by Hull City who were promoted to the Premier League.
Bristol City are top of League One with a huge points difference over Walsall so were widely expected to beat Walsall and lift the trophy for a record third time.
The match finished 2-0 to Bristol City with defenders Aden Flint and Mark Little netting the goals for Bristol City in each half.
The jubilant 40,000 strong Bristol City fans celebrated their first trophy for twelve years.
